Getting Ready to Mix a Show for R.E.M.

w00t!







I'm going to be mixing R.E.M at the Georgia Music Hall of Fame awards on September 16th at the Georgia World Congress Center. Needless to say I'm pretty freakin excited! Still no word on which three songs they will perform but I will find out in a week or two when rehearsals begin. Hopefully we will do a song with Gregg Allman as well. That's gonna be too cool!I'm going to be mixing on the new Yamaha M7CL Digital mixer:
I used one a couple of months ago and all I can say is this is the best thing that ever happened to pro audio. I've mixed on a PM5D and PM1D as well but for some reason I like this console better. One of the coolest aspects of this console is the fact that I'll be able to build my entire patch, board layout, effects programs and dynamics processors in an editor on my laptop during rehearsals, save that info to my thumbdrive, walk into the venue and load it right into the console. Holy shit! :)
