Where did my paycheck go?

Sheesh, you know times are tight when your paycheck is spent the day before you get it. I keep hearing about all this great economic upswing and exceptional growth! LIARS! The middle class can barely meet their bills, have drained their savings and continue to pile up debt on credit cards. How long can this continue?

So, the value system pounded into my head as a child to work and save and be a responsible citizen is actually going to come back to bite me in the end? I'll be 50 next year which means gee, only 12 to 15 more years of paying into a system that's going to make it a priority to marginalize my quality of life after retirement. WTF? Everything I've worked for my whole life is a lie and a joke?

The corporate profit machine and all the corporate profits of the last 35 years were stoked by the willingness of babyboomers to buy into the system for the promised return of a somewhat secure and comfortable retirement. We are getting rolled. And that's what really makes the blatant hypocrisy of our political system so pathetic, especially the current group of thieves and liars.
